«Angels We Have Heard on High» es un villancico con la melodÃa del himno «Gloria» de una canción tradicional francesa de origen desconocido llamada Les Anges dans nos campagnes, con letra en inglés parafraseada por James Chadwick. El tema de la canción es el nacimiento de Jesucristo narrado en el Evangelio de Lucas, concretamente la escena en la que los pastores de las afueras de Belén se encuentran con una multitud de ángeles que cantan y alaban al niño recién nacido.
